Transword Professional Translation Agency – Our Story

Our company was founded in the summer of 1992 under the name Petit Stúdió Printing, Commercial and Service Partnership, established by two partners.

We began our operations as journalists, producing weekly and monthly—mainly in-house—magazines, including editing, desktop publishing, and full print production.

In 1994, we expanded our activities to include translation and interpreting services. Due to rapidly increasing demand, this area soon became the dominant part of our work.

This “small” studio, through gradual but persistent development, established a stable presence in the Hungarian translation market and, in 1995, became a member of the Association of Hungarian Translation Agencies.

Outgrowing our original name, in the spring of 2001 we adopted the brand Transword Professional Translation Agency and transformed into a limited liability company.

Thanks to efficient organization and a continuously growing freelance pool—consisting of several hundred translators and interpreters—translation and interpreting have become the core profile of our company.

We expanded our in-house team according to ongoing needs. Today, five dedicated staff members coordinate the work of nearly 80 regularly assigned translator and interpreter subcontractors, while a system administrator maintains our modern IT infrastructure, designed to meet the highest contemporary standards.

The effectiveness of our work is reflected in the long-term loyalty of our clients—many of whom play an important role in the Hungarian economy and have been relying on our services for several years.
