Translation Prices and Detailed Information – Transword Professional Translation Agency
The determination of translation prices is a far more complex process than it may initially appear. At Transword Professional Translation Agency, we follow the practice of providing each of our clients with an individual, tailor-made quotation, because translation fees can be influenced by a wide range of factors. It is important for us that you know exactly what to expect in advance, which is why every project is carried out with transparent pricing and prior consultation.
Our translation agency has been engaged in professional translation, certified translation, and the translation of business documents for more than two decades. Translation fees are always determined based on the specific order, as no two documents are the same, and each text requires a different level of expertise, translation time, and precision. Below, we provide detailed information on the factors that influence translation prices, the principles we work by, and why it is worthwhile to request a quotation from us.

What Determines Translation Prices?
The cost of a translation is influenced by several key factors. Together, these elements determine how much work is required to produce a precise and professionally executed translation.
1. The quality and complexity of the text
It makes a significant difference whether the text is simple and informal, an official document, or a highly specialized piece of content—such as legal, technical, financial, or medical material. Documents belonging to specialized fields require a higher degree of professional responsibility and subject-matter expertise, which can result in higher translation fees.
2. The language pair
The price of a translation also depends on the language combination.
• Common language pairs—such as English–Hungarian, Hungarian–German, Hungarian–Romanian, or Hungarian–Polish—typically fall into a more favorable pricing category.
• Rare or more complex languages—such as Chinese, Japanese, Kazakh, or Arabic—often involve higher translation costs.
3. Volume and deadline
The larger the text, the more time is required to process it.
If the client requests an urgent deadline (for example, delivery within a few hours or within 24 hours), an express surcharge may apply.
Standard turnaround times are, of course, calculated at a more favorable rate.
4. Whether proofreading is required
Certain documents must be proofread by a second expert, such as:
• contracts
• legal documents
• professional studies
• publications
• official submissions
In such cases, the translation is reviewed by another specialist, which is included in the final price.
What Is a Standard Page? How Do We Calculate It?
In the translation industry, a standard page is generally defined as 1,250 characters including spaces.
Our agency calculates standard pages in the target language, based on Word for Windows 6.0 and 7.0 statistics.
In our pricing, every started page counts as half or a full page. This ensures full transparency, especially for shorter documents.
The Prices Shown Are Guideline Rates – The Final Price Is Agreed in Advance
The prices listed on Transword.hu serve as guideline rates only.
The actual translation fee may differ from the indicative prices because the exact cost depends on several factors, including:
• the quality, complexity, and subject matter of the text
• the total volume
• the requested turnaround time
• whether proofreading or certification is required
• the format in which the document is received
We never begin work without prior agreement, and the final price is always confirmed in writing. Translation only starts once the client has approved the exact fee and deadline.
This ensures that our clients always know what to expect—there are no hidden or unexpected costs.
What Is Included in the Base Price?
Our basic translation fee includes the following services:
• professional-quality translation
• printing one hard copy
• digital delivery of the document (PDF, Word, or other formats)
• secure file backup
Upon request, we also provide:
• delivery of the finished document to the specified address
• pickup of the source documents
• additional printed copies
• electronic certification, stamped copies, or paper-based certified versions
Translation of Important Documents and Sensitive Fields
We strongly recommend proofreading and a high level of professional attention for the following types of documents:
• legal texts
• court documents
• official submissions
• contracts
• medical reports
• financial statements
• official documents issued by educational institutions
For these materials, accuracy, professional consistency, and proper terminology are critical.
